I am allowing my helper to transfer to a new employer. What do I need to take note of.

Under the MOM work permit conditions, employers are required to repatriate the worker back to their home country when the contract is completed or terminated. However, MOM allows employers to transfer the employment of the worker together with the responsibility of a foreign domestic worker to another employer.

An important point to note, the current employers are fully responsible for the helper till the issuance of the new work permit is completed. What this means if the new employer is processing the application directly with MOM, there is a chance a mistake/delay might occur resulting in a change of plans and additional responsibility for the current employer. (Example: a new helper is joining the family)

If you do allow your helper to seek new employment, it will be advisable to engage an employment agency like us, to ensure all the applications and requirements are done accurately. We do not charge the worker any fees, and fees charged are to the new employer at very fair rates.
